About
the athenaeum ::❧
Operating primarily as an adventurers’ guild out of The Mist, La Noscea, The Athenaeum free company is a collection of scholars and adventurers alike, focused on research and honing specialist skills, to meet the needs of the more ‘technical’ jobs in the world.
From Othard to Aldenard, the reach of Athenaeum spreads across the majority of Hydaelyn, with the capability to go even further beyond their realms, for the sake of pursuing and preserving knowledge.
In their pursuit of knowledge, The Athenaeum retrieves and collects artefacts from across the globe, keeping under protection the more dangerous of relics. Those suited to collectors and buyers, are sold on premises, to help fund their expeditions and keep the company afloat.
the shop ::❧
From gemstones, potions, crystals, weapons, armour, books, scrolls, and other knickknacks found along their journeys and adventures; the Athenaeum has in stock a wide range of relics and artefacts sought after and prized by scholars and collectors alike.
The company’s stock changes frequently with each new moon, so be quick and on the lookout, as it is first-come first-served! All commerce helps support and fund The Athenaeum’s expeditions, to seek out and retrieve more artefacts and relics, for sale.
the library ::❧
Stacked from wall to wall with books and tomes, old and new, factual, fiction, dissertation, and none alike. The Athenaeum’s library is a collection of knowledge sourced by many a number of its members’ personal libraries, so as to ensure quality among its vast quantity, free to the public, brought together to offer a momentous fountain of knowledge.
All books taken off premises will vanish and return to The Athenaeum’s library, after a sennight.

For a brighter atmosphere, The Athenaeum’s lounge offers a warm and comfortable environment, enriched with chill and beautiful harmonies played by their enchanted musical instruments. With plush-piles, reading-nooks, comfy chairs and sofa, The Athenaeum’s lounge is the perfect place to relax.
Rules
General
♦ Everyone is separate into ranks. Neophytes are newcomers and will remain in that position for a month. This is treated as a trial. If they are active through the month, Neophytes will be promoted to the permanent position. Please notify either of the coleads or officers if you will be inactive for long periods of time during this trial time. If not, we will contact you after two weeks of inactivity, and if there is no response, we will remove you from the fc.
♦ Due to the mature themes of our FC, we will not accept members under the age of 18.
Inactive members will not be punished. However, if you are inactive for one month with no notification, we will remove you from the FC.
♦ Regarding the FC chest, we will happily help out in any way we can with items, gear, and etc.
The first tab is for the workshop while the third is for everyone to use. However, please avoid filling the chest with excessive amounts of items.
♦ Please keep the Discord channels tidy, by posting content to the appropriate channels.
♦ The FC may be RP focused, but this does not mean that it is a requirement. We will still be doing content.
♦ Please inform an officer or leader if you plan on leaving the FC, for any reason.
♦ If you wish to invite someone to the FC, please inform an officer or a leader. You are responsible for individuals you wish to invite.
♦ Keep in mind that this is just a game, and we are all here to have fun!
Roleplay
♦ Please be respectful of people’s characters and wishes.
♦ Everyone has lives outside the game and may not be around all the time.
♦ People are not their characters, so please be respectful of personal boundaries (e.g. IC character relationships do not translate into OOC, without consent, etc.).
♦ We are a lore stringent Free Company.
♦ Please avoid using underage characters.
♦ If you wish to have plots for your character, please inform the FC leads with your own ideas. We will not be creating personal plotlines.
Be respectful
♦ We are an inclusive Free Company. We will not tolerate hate-speech of any kind. This includes: slurs/derogatory terms (racial, homophobic/transphobic, ableism, etc), bigotry and hate towards religions/beliefs.
♦ Please avoid making jokes about rape, incest/pedophilia, abuse, and other sensitive topics. We wish to make a safe environment for everyone. Respectful discussions of these topics are fine, especially regarding character history.
♦ Please avoid fetishizing LGBT+, rape, incest/pedophilia, abuse, and other minority groups.
♦ Please be respectful of everyone in the FC/Discord. Everyone is different in their own way and may face different challenges.
♦ Please behave appropriately outside of the FC/Discord, as a representative of Athenaeum; this means being respectful to other players, in game, as harassment (including IC, without player consent) will not be tolerated.
♦ Officers are there to help whenever needed, but please understand that they are human too, and are fallible. They may make mistakes. Be respectful of them.
♦ Please avoid posting major spoilers in the main Discord channels; instead, utilize the Spoiler channel for any discussions regarding new or sensitive content.

Once you read through the rules and are interested in joining, simply fill out the form. We will get back to as soon as possible! This will lead up to an IC interview if application is approved by officers and FC leaders.
events
Public events ::♤
Shop Events::
Shop events are events that will occur occasionally whenever the guild needs to declutter their space. They will only be advertised through party finder. None of the items for sale will require actual gil. There is no actual list of items for sale in the shop, so feel free to make up items your character is purchasing. However, please keep it appropriate for the event.
Auction Events::
Auction events are events that will occur once or twice a month. There will be a scheduled day for these events on our own calendar and the RP bot. Items will be listed that will be in the auction. These will not require actual gil.
fc events ::♣
Plot Events::
These type of events we attempt to do biweekly. Many will be a continuation of plots that directly affect the guild. Some of these plots may involve other Free Companies, such as ≪BONE≫.
Job Board/Personal Events::
The Job Board is a list of requests that can range in difficulty and is refresh once every month with new jobs. These events can be scheduled any day of the week. Any member can pick up a job and DM it themselves. Personalized events can be scheduled any day as well.

♦ Noctuas are the leaders of the guild.
orrian estmon ::☼
A miqo’te with mysterious origins, Orrian is the co-owner of Athenaeum and head manager of the shop and library. With a fantasization for the world, Orrian left his homeland to explore it. He rarely stayed in one spot for long, eagerly searching for any new knowledge. This miqo’te would be digging up ancient tomes and dungeon crawling, for any developments in his research. He has himself buried in ancient tomes, or spending time with the locals to learn as much as he can, when not exploring Eorzea.
During his time in Eorzea, Orrian had discovered himself in ways he had never expected, including a few other feline friends. He can be found down in the library most of the time, especially during down-times, reading the latest romance novels. When not spending time in the library, he will be out and about tending to flowers or his cats. Orrian is an overly friendly cat himself, easy to approach and is more than willing to share a smile.
Kazimir Dunyasch ::✮
Originally hailing from the Queendom of Dunya, on the continent of Ilsabard, Kazimir was the captain of Her Majesty’s royal guard. However, since the fall of his home at the hands of the Garlean Empire, the taciturn Hrothgar fled and spent near a decade as a recluse, in the Far East. Impossibly found by a mysterious benefactor, the disheartened soldier was pulled from his mourning, to fulfil a duty in return for a favour from what felt nearly a lifetime ago. Now, Kazimir runs at the helm as co-lead of Athenaeum; in spite of his dour and stony exterior, lies a heart of gold somewhere within.

Sulahn Da'assan ::☄
Not quite of this realm and with a hidden power beneath, Sulahn serves as the Head of Medical, directly under Orrian and Kazimir. Her cheerful and sweet demeanor wipes away any suspicion that a troubled background shrouds her. Highly trained in her field, Sulahn has served in an administrative position before. Not only once but thrice, Ranging from owning her own medical practice to managing an infirmary within an academy and orphanage. She’s given much of her life to the pursuit of knowledge and betterment of society. Seeing much need for a touch of kindness in the world, she’ll almost bug the members of the Athenaeum with phrases of worry or precautioned concern.
Oracle ::۞
♦ Oracles are members with special privileges that have been given once they are deemed worthy by guild leaders.

♦ Adepts are members who have earned their place in the guild as permanent members.
Neophyte ::♢
♦ Neophytes are members who are new to the guild and must their place in order to be considered Adepts.
